I have only been learning visual basic and PHP/MySql since August 2007. I am a quick learner. A good example: when I become involved in a project back in in 2002. The Corporation Division was taking their business start up coop (6 state agencies were involved ) Business Information Center online. Originally, it was 3 people answering phone calls regarding business start up. We were trained every aspect of state business regulations, start up assistance, and our key service: providing customized business start up packets (tailored to the specific customer's call).
The Corporation Division's solution to this overwhelming expense (just to send out a packet via US Mail alone was $3). I became involved since I was one of the best call center employees (I answered phone calls from 3 different phone lines: Business Registry, Business Information Center - BIC and the Secretary of State's own Executive Line) . BIC's database was a Filemaker Pro (6 I think) DB. I had to combine the information based upon certain situations I experienced on the phone with 2002 NAICS codes into an Excel 2000 spreadsheet, so that the programmers could then migrate it into the new database (Oracle DB).
I attended alot of meetings with the project manager, the application administrator (also a former boss), agency manager, and programmers. It was a very educational experience for me.
I read plenty of requirement papers for development of software while working for the Corporation Division. I am waiting to see whether I can put out a good document for you guys to read. You will know soon. My current project Social Business just started up. I will be constantly posting here, while I am in the early stages of putting my idea into words.
Its only been since August 2007 that I have taken the time to learn about PHP Programming. Since then I have went from setting up websites with a script some examples: Online Arcade Site , and a real estate directory. I have taken the time to understand how each file works with others in the script. I will have some of the projects I have made posted on here in the near future.
