A Temporary Problem
Well we are getting ready to roll out our new script. However, I host crashed and lost all their files and websites. Unfortunately, I didn't have a back up. I am already hating myself for not taking care of my information properly. For the time being we will be using this blog. I have to restore the forum, get the script up and running before I have time to start up another hostside wordpress blog. So this will be our blog once again. I have plenty of information to announce. Over the next couple of days I will be posting on here. Keep your eyes here for more information.

New Blog Site
This will be my last post on blogger. Our new blog is up. I have yet to work all the bugs out of it but its up nonetheless. Deciding on a theme, plugins and other things right now. I hope that after the new year we will some progress on the script. Still got a few things to do in it before I even want to upload it to the public. I am waiting for help in that area.

New Host for the Social Business Project
Thanksgiving went well yesterday. Today is the wonderful shopping experience. I actually participated in it. Walmart was total utter chaos this morning.
Yesterday I acquired new hosting for my site. I expected the move to be a pain in the butt. Actually it was painless. The Social Business Project is up and running 100% on its new home.
I moved the site over to some freephphosting dot come or another site. It sucked!! All my pages had ads on the top and bottom of the page, and there were so many limitations that I wasn't used to. It also wasn't running CPanel. Not that it has to but I have gotten so used to it.
Finally, I was able to find some decent hosting from vt16.com I do have to say their service was great. I will keep you posted about my experiences with them.
Within the week we should have our initial version (alpha) of the project up and running. I can't promise much but it will be a start.I am lucky to have met some people who thought this idea was worthy enough to get off the ground.
Currently, I am in the process of trying to get the particular domain name I want for the project. I meant what would Myspace or Facebook be without their name? Well I do have my eyes set on a particular name or 2.
There will probably only be one or 2 more posts from this blog. I am in the process of setting up a blog on our host. More than likely it will be a wordpress blog.

CommunalBusiness.net is Up
In addition to this blog i have started work on the Social Business Project website. Nothing spectacular yet, just this blog (which i will move to a word press site on our server before long), the project manager portion, (if you wanna check this part out the user is:guest and the password is:guest) and the forums
Currently I am working on getting Rent My DN a new site (using php/mysql) and now that I have a computer I can easily work from home (I just fixed my computer but before it was running off a backup partition).
I took a break Friday and left (with my girlfriend Carrie, daughter Haley and friend Tyson) to go and see a few of my friends that live in Coos Bay, OR. It wasn't too bad of a trip. Once we got there it was quite a lot of fun. One of the problems was there was no broadband internet at my friend's place, just dial up. The point is I didn't do anything web related this weekend (which was for the better anyway).
Today my plans are to clean up the forum and ready it for discussion. I also need to work some on the new rentmydn site. If I have time I am going to give the social business project home page a make over.

Poll
I wanted to add a poll with hope I can at least get some kind of idea as to whether anyone thinks this idea is interesting and innovative. So please tell me what you think.
Its been a long week...
So for the last 2 days I have been redoing my desktop computer. I need it fixed bad as I am going to be working on redoing Rentmydn (using php/mysql) and need a decent html editor on it. Last month it went down totally. Luckily, I had an extra partition that i was able to install an OS on and recover all my pictures and other important files. However, the other users of my desktop took forever to back their own junk up.
I instead of reinstalling the same boring Windows XP I went to XP Professional Retail. So its so good. With all the upgrades I have done to this computer its been a pain to find all the drivers and then reinstall precious software. I think as of this morning the computer is 90% (waiting for visual studio express 2008 to finish installing).
I have been so busy that I only get to spend a fraction of the time I have working on this project. Starting Monday (the 12th) I will be putting forth more time for this project. I have several people interested and need to get them information vital to the project, so that we may get started.
Whats going to happen is this: I am going to be setting up a public forum for the Social Business Project. I have been working on a detailed requirements for the development of the project, as well as projected business plan. I believe a business plan is extremely important if you want a project to get off the ground.
The forum is up. This is my first time setting up a forum and being an admin. I was recommend to use Simple Machines Forum — SMF by Prathik over at the Tech36 blog. So far its pretty easy to use. The set up (I did it with out Fantastico) was pretty easy.
I guess I got some work to do with the forum. There should be something up as a homepage at: www.communalbusiness.net today I hope.
I am having a hell of a time trying to find the most perfect .com domain name for the actual project. I have a few ideas still but my favorite is parked (of course) as a typo for 50 cent (selling 50 cent ringtones).
Hopefully by the time I get back from Coos Bay, OR (going there to visit some friends and take my daughter crabbing and tide pooling for her first time) I will have some more ideas.

What I Do
I thought I would discuss briefly what I do. Currently, I am a member/owner of a company called Rent My DN . The company has a rather nice sized portfolio of domain names .
My main project at this time is redoing Rent My DN's Homesite. The first one is very static. The new version is being designed with PHP and MySql.
Another thing I am learning how to do is SEO or Search Engine Optimization. I have come along way since I started webmastering. PHP scripts are the greatest thing to me. I love how easy it use to utilize a database.
I have finally got my project management script up and running. If you are interested in taking a peak of the project (there is nothing there yet but will be soon) you can go to : Social Business Project (user: guest pword: guest). Some information of course is private and will not be available to you (unless you are on the project team (if you are interested in becoming a part of it email me at admin@communalbusiness.net
In one of my next posts I will be introducing some of our staff, as well as what their role in the project is (I will plug their other projects for them as well). If you know how to program please contact me if you want to work on a potential project.
